The Davis Center is the home of the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the college’s Mwangi Cultural Center. The center provides office and meeting space for organizations in which students gather to celebrate and share their cultural heritage. The center opened as the Afro-American Cultural Center in Lilly Hall in 1968 but was renamed in 1973 to honor Ng’endo Mwangi, a member of the class of 1961, for her dedication and service to her community. She was the first female physician in Kenya.
