    1. Hopkins House

Hopkins, one of Smith's significant historical buildings, was built as a private residence in 1861. Acquired by the college in 1920, Hopkins is now one of two small cooperative houses on campus. The students buy food collectively and cook communally. Hopkins' residents boast that their house has an ideal location, since they overlook the Lyman Conservatory and its gardens, and they have a beautiful view of the Mount Holyoke Range.
