    1. DeCora House

      DeCora House is one of the five Friedman Complex apartment buildings. Angel DeCora was the first Native American to attend Smith, graduating with the class of 1896. The descendent of two prominent French Canadian-Winnebago Native American chiefs, DeCora was also known by her tribal name, Hinook-Mahiwi-Kalinaka (Fleecy Cloud Floating in Space). After graduation, she studied at the Drexel Institute of Art, Science and Industry in Philadelphia and went on to become a well-known artist and illustrator of books and magazines on Native American subjects.
