    1. Hashimy House

      Hashimy House is one of the five Friedman Complex apartment buildings. Sabiha Yassin Hashimy was the first Middle Eastern student to graduate from Smith. Living in Baghdad, Iraq, at the time of her matriculation, she transferred to Smith from American Junior College for Women in Beirut. After her graduation in 1937, she returned to Iraq and dedicated her career to the education of young women, serving as the principal of the Kirch Secondary School for Girls in Baghdad for 14 years.
