Sage Hall, home of the music department, opened in 1924 and was completely renovated in the 1990s. Sage Hall features two performance venues: Sweeney Concert Hall, a 640 seat performance space and Earle Recital Hall in addition to dozens of practice rooms, classrooms, an early music room, an electronic music studio, Gamelan and Chinese music instruments, and a Wicked Loud Music Room. The building is named for Margaret Olivia Sage, who was a generous donor to Smith in the 1920s.
