Originally called Military Plaza Park, Armory Park dates back to Presidio days, when the military who guarded the Tucson Presidio were stationed here. The soldiers were later moved to Ft. Lowell. The site was also the location of an armory. The original Carnegie Library, west of the park, is now the home of the Tucson Children's Museum. The adjacent Armory Senior Center was built in 1975 and is host to many senior activities including social services, dances, fitness classes, and senior club activities. Features: Band shell area, shuffleboard courts, several war memorials.
