      1. Taylor Cottage

        Purchased in the summer of 1979 and used as a rental until it was converted to student housing in 1989, Taylor Cottage is located at 274 Lincoln Avenue and can house up to 4 students.

         

        This cottage is named in honor of Walter T. Taylor, who was the first principal of Pioneer School in 1850 that evetually became Hope College in 1866. However, he did not live to see this transformation. He died before the College was founded after he had a brief illness in 1856.
