Tours

  1. Bee Campus USA

Lane Community College is a certified Bee Campus USA. Take this tour to see our pollinator gardens we planted around campus!

    Stops

    1. Bldg 30 riverbed

For the first stop of the tour, we want to direct your attention to the "riverbed" garden.  We planted pollinator friendly plants here to help extend the range for pollinators on campus.
There used to be mainly bushes and wind pollinated plants in this area.
Check out the Bee Campus webpage for more information about meeting times and how you can get involved in this ongoing initiative!
    2. Learning Garden bioswale

We brought more local pollinator friendly plants to this area to promote pollinators in the garden and give them a wider range in this corner of campus!  You can find the plants along the back fence/bioswale of the Learning Garden.

To learn more about the Learning Garden visit the Learning Garden Club website
    3. Parking lot bioswale

By bringing pollinator friendly plants to this part of campus, we have bridged a pollinator pathway from the garden to the main part of campus.

To see a list of the pollinator specific plants we selected, see this pdf.
    4. Bldg 16 bioswale

To finish your tour of our specifically planted pollinator gardens, we've brought you to Building 16 bioswale.  This bioswale was created as part of a parking lot renovation and has been maintained as a student research area for many years.  We planted more pollinator friendly plants here to diversify the area.

Lane Community College has an amazingly abundant landscape that is maintained by Facilities Management.  We have native landscaping, edible gardens, certified Wildlife Habitats, and more to enjoy during all seasons.  Visit the Facilities Management blog for more information about how we care for our beautiful campus!
