Originally constructed in 1961, Phillips Hall was renovated in 1995 and again in 2013. The hall is 13,286 square feet and sits on the northernmost part of the Mid-Quad residential precinct. The hall is named after Mr. M. Penn Phillips.
The Ryal Residential Computer Lab, located on the north end of Phillips Hall, has over 20 workstations and printers open to students 24/7. With the Poppa Computer Lab and the Poppa Family Technology Classroom, "Ryal," as it is known to students, is named in honor of technology executive Ryal R. Poppa '57 GP'08.
All CMC residence hall rooms have wifi coverage and wired Internet connections and laundry facilities in the building, and Phillips also offers hydration stations and air-conditioning.
