      1. Stark Hall

Originally constructed in 1997, Stark Hall is 32,400 square feet and is part of the South Quad residential precinct. It is the only dorm on campus that is explicitly "substance-free." Students can use the 24/7 South Campus Computer Lab and piano, both of which are located on the ground floor of Stark Hall.

Stark Hall is named in honor of Jack L. Stark '57, the third President of Claremont McKenna College (1970-1999). He led the college to exceptional growth in reputation, academic quality, financial endowment, and student selectivity. Under Stark's leadership, CMC expanded its influence in public affairs through the creation of nine public policy research institutes. Stark guided CMC through fundamental institutional changes, including becoming coeducational in 1976 and changing its name from Claremont Men's College to Claremont McKenna College in 1981.

Stark Hall is air-conditioned, with high-speed Internet service throughout the building. It has study and social lounges as well.
