The Tarleton State University Softball Field has served as home to the TexAnns since the program was started in 1996. Construction on the field began in the spring of 1995 and the field was ready for play in January of 1996.

Tarleton played its first varsity game on the field on February 19, 1996, winning the second game of a doubleheader against Schreiner College in extra innings.

The field dimensions are 190' down the lines and 220' to straight away centerfield. The field itself is laid out in the same direction as the adjacent Cecil Ballow Field, Tarleton's home for baseball games.

A scoreboard is in left field and the field is surrounded by chain link fence with windscreen. Among the improvements since the field was initially constructed are the installation of permanent bleachers with a seating capacity of 250, the construction of a press box, and the painting of the Tarleton softball logo (by former Tarleton third baseman Jalayne Rinewalt) on the Tarleton (third-base side) dugout. The grounds also include a hitting tunnel, locker rooms and storage facilities.

The enclosed press box has ample room for a scorekeeper, public address announcer, scoreboard operator, and two media personnel. It is lighted, carpeted, heated, and air-conditioned. The press box phone number is 254-968-9677.

The field is easily accessible, located on Harbin Drive off Business 377 (West Washington Street) on the far west edge of the Tarleton campus.
