    1. Leadership - Core Values Plaque

      We honor Maj. Gen. James Earl Rudder  with one of six plaques commemorating Tarleton's core values in his words. 

      Leadership — If you will lead, you must learn to follow

      Rudder was a student from 1927 to 1930 and later returned to Tarleton in 1938 to teach and coach before being called in to active military during in 1941. 

      Tarleton is where he discover who he was and what he wanted to be. Tarleton President J. Thomas Davis and Coach W.J. Wisdom were role models. Commander of the historic assault up the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc in World War II, he will long be remembered for the Rudder Way of doing things as a true example of Tarleton's core values.
