Zipcar is a car sharing service that allows students 18 years or older and with a valid driver’s license to rent vehicles by the hour or day. Reservation times range from one hour to seven days. Memberships for students have been discounted to $15 thanks to support from Ford Motor Company. Gas, insurance and 24/7 roadside assistance are included in the rental cost.
Students can apply for memberships online or in the Zipcar app. When their application has been approved, they will be sent a “Zipcard” to access their rental.
There are five locations on campus, with convenient dedicated, reserved parking spots. Students can choose from sedans, hybrids, vans and more. For additional information, check out UT Dallas’ Zipcar website.
