Student Finance Lab (powered by PNC Bank)

Centre College’s Campus Center gained a multi-purpose technological space called the Student Finance Lab, powered by PNC Bank ($30,000 sponsorship with PNC Bank).

“PNC is thrilled to be a part of the student finance lab,” said John Gohmann, PNC regional president of Lexington. “Centre is an outstanding institution and a very important client.”

The student-led Paul W. Chellgren Investment Society holds regular meetings in the Finance Lab to educate students about investments.

Kendrick Durham, assistant dean and director of campus activities said the finance lab is a great resource, and while the space is still a conference room, to should be used by students for meetings and research.

“The purpose of the Finance Lab is to provide technological space that is adaptable for many student and group needs,” said Mark Dill ’18, president of the Investment Society. “Its advanced technology provides an engaging atmosphere to enhance students’ capabilities.”

According to Assistant Professor of Economics Shunan Zhao, the students in the society are actively organizing events to teach students on campus investment knowledge.
