Gary Wright Field serves as the home to the Centre baseball team and is located on Colonel drive near Farris Stadium and Crounse Hall.
The field has received numerous upgrades over the past few years and continues to do so. The latest improvement was made in the summer of 2013 when the playing surface was changed from a cool-season grass to a Riviera Bermuda surface giving the Colonels one of the nicest surfaces in the region.
In the summer of 2009 the entire playing surface was laser graded and an irrigation system, outfield warning track, and artificial turf in front of both dugouts, around home plate and in the bullpens were installed. A new scoreboard was also installed in the spring of 2009.
Lights were installed in the summer of 2005, courtesy of 1964 Centre alum Gary Wright, allowing for the first night games at Centre.
New dugouts, a brick backstop from dugout to dugout and an arch entranceway were also completed in the summer of 2006, improving both the appearance and functionality of the facility.
The press box was dedicated in 2006 and named for Centre alum Herb McGuire '57.
