This building was named in honor of the friendship between Martha Berry and longtime school supporter Emily Vanderbilt Hammond. It was originally the senior men's dormitory on the mountain campus. For a time after World War II, the older male college freshmen, many of them veterans, were housed here due to a housing shortage on the college campus. Friendship Hall is now a female residence hall for students attending Berry on WinShape scholarships. Friendship has a capacity of 57. The hall is equipped with a kitchen, television lounge and laundry room.
