In fiscal years 2023-2024, Boise State received $90M in deferred maintenance funds from the State of Idaho. These funds will allow us to complete several top projects on the university’s capital renewal/deferred maintenance list. Projects on this list address deficiencies in our campus facilities and infrastructure that had been deferred until funds were available. View more on our website.
- Generator Replacements: These generators are reaching end of life. Parts are difficult to find and increased service costs make these good candidates for replacement. Generators backup critical life safety systems during a power outage such as our fire alarm systems, egress lighting, elevators, and OIT systems. Replacing these generators ensures that these other systems operate when they are needed to protect occupants. Additionally, several of these generators will be connected to the campus remote monitoring system which allows our maintenance crew to get notified and respond faster to emergency situations on campus.
- Air Handler Modernization: The air handling unit is original to the building and many components are reaching end of life. This project will replace components such as heating and cooling coils, fans, and controls to increase the resiliency of the unit and improve energy efficiency.
- Roof Replacement: The roof has reached end of life and is need of replacement. This will protect the interior of the building which allows Boise State to continue providing quality education to our students.
