In fiscal years 2023-2024, Boise State received $90M in deferred maintenance funds from the State of Idaho. These funds will allow us to complete several top projects on the university’s capital renewal/deferred maintenance list. Projects on this list address deficiencies in our campus facilities and infrastructure that had been deferred until funds were available. View more on our website.
- Liberal Arts Fire Alarm Replacement: The fire alarm system in liberal arts is outdate and repairs / parts are difficult to find. This project will continue to support critical life safety systems by replacing the outdated system with a new modern system that is maintainable.
- Switchgear Replacements: The switchgear in the Library, SMASH, Math Geo, and Liberal Arts is either reaching end of life or is well past end of life. Replacing these systems now improves the safety of maintenance personnel that operate this equipment as well as improving the resiliency of other systems in the building. This allows Boise State to still continues its goals of providing world class education and research.
- Roof Replacement: The roof has reached end of life and is need of replacement. This will protect the interior of the building which allows Boise State to continue providing quality education to our students.
- Heating and HVAC Replacement: This project will replace the mechanical equipment that is still original to the building that serves the west wing. This project will continue the efforts started in the east side remodel. Impact: Increased zones and number of thermostats will increase the occupant comfort throughout the building. The new system will make improvements in energy efficiency and lay the groundwork for reliable mechanical systems in the building for the next 30 years.
