San Francisco artist Fletcher Benton often chooses simple geometric shapes that intersect precariously on top of one another. This dramatic sculpture, completed in 1994, is a recent addition to the ASU Public Art Collection. Benton's work is housed in more than 80 public and corporate collections, including the Corcoran Gallery of Art and the Hirschhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, both in Washington, D.C.; and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Audrey and Sidney Irmas of Los Angeles donated the Double Column Ring Triangle.
