    1. Samfield Memorial Study Garden and Statue of Christ

      The Samfield Study Garden is designed as a retreat for students to study and meditate. It is located on the west side of the Chapel of St. Basil near the University Seal Plaza, Named in honor of Edwin Samfield (deceased) and his wife, Lee Corsack Samfield, the circular garden also has a monument bearing the Samfield name. Edwin Samfield, a professional engineer, was a former director of Facilities Operations.  The centerpiece of the garden is a statue of Jesus Christ by sculptor Lorenzo Ghiglieri placed in memory of Lisa Jan Elizabeth, Dec. 28, 1954-December 12-2006.
