      1. Moeur Bldg.

The Moeur Building is home the Mars Space Flight Facility. ASU scientists and researchers are using spacecraft instruments on Mars to explore the geology and mineralogy of the red planet.

These instruments include the Thermal Emission Imaging System (THEMIS) on NASA's Mars Odyssey and two Mini-Thermal Emission Spectrometers (Mini-TES) on the Mars Exploration Rovers, Spirit and Opportunity. Don't miss the full-size Mars rover model in the Moeur Building lobby.

The facility also houses the ASU Mars Education Program, which provides opportunities for teachers and students to join in the excitement of Mars exploration. Tours are available for school groups by appointment.

The Moeur Building, the only adobe building on campus, was built in 1939 as part of the Works Projects Administration program. The building is named after Benjamin Baker Moeur, M.D., who served as the official physician for the Arizona Territorial Normal School (now ASU), and served two terms as governor of Arizona.
