The picturesque Melching Field at Conrad Park, located south of the DeLand campus, is home to Stetson University's Division I baseball team. The $4.5 million facility opened in 1999 and was built under a partnership between Stetson University, the DeLand Sports Redevelopment Association and the City of DeLand. The facility served as the host stadium for the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament from 2002 to 2009 and from 2012 to present. The ADA-accessible facility features permanent seating for 2,500 spectators, as well as a grass berm which provides room for an additional 500 fans, and a full-service concessions area located at the entrance.
The facility added a high-tech scoreboard at the beginning of the 2012 season, which is complemented by an equally state-of-the-art sound system. The stadium's lighting provides sufficient infield and outfield lighting for televised night games. The stadium also features a press box, two VIP viewing rooms, two radio booths, a television broadcast room and a working press area. The university's baseball coaches have their offices at the field, and players will find a pro-style locker room and the newly renovated Carlton Family Room, a players' lounge.
