    1. Wheeler-Stokely Mansion

Originally known as the Hawkeye Estate, Wheeler-Stokely Mansion was constructed in 1911 for Frank Wheeler, a founder of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Monty Williams, president of the Marmon Motor Company, purchased the estate in 1921 following Wheeler’s death. In 1937, William B. Stokely purchased the estate in 1937 and renamed it Magnolia Farm.   By 1963, Stokely felt the house and grounds were too much to maintain and sold the estate to what was then named Marian College. Some of the estate’s original structures still remain, such as the Oriental Gardens and the Caretaker’s Cottage. The mansion now houses the Office of Admission.
