GEORGE C.S. BENSON AUDITORIUM, a 320-seat state-of-the-art facility with full handicapped access, is the largest event space on campus. It can be used for classroom space, panel discussions, performances, lectures, film screenings and more. It also has full theatrical stage lighting and a lectern with additional laptop connection. The lobby area, Stein Atrium, serves as a reception area.
Benson Auditorium is located on the east side of Avery Hall in the center of the Mounds (Pellissier Mall).
Originally named Avery Auditorium when it was built in 1969, the space was completely renovated in 2009-10 and renamed George C.S. Benson Auditorium in honor of founding trustee and former president of Claremont McKenna College.
