Griffith Hall is home to the Student Counseling Services and Religious and Spiritual Life office. Student Counseling Services offers mental health counseling services for students dealing with personal, social, academic or career concerns. Services are confidential and free to all currently enrolled students. All counseling staff members are licensed in Florida to provide mental health counseling services. Religious and Spiritual Life is available to all students of all faiths — and to those with no religious affiliation — who wish to discuss any concerns or issues they may have with their spirituality. The building is named after Dr. John H. Griffith, the first principal of DeLand Academy, the forerunner to the university.
