About the Building
Built in 1957, Smith Hall is named after J. Archy Smith, a noted dean of the college and professor of mathematics. Located near the Athletic Training Center, next to Gordis hall and across from Nemec Hall, Smith Hall serves as home to more than 160 co-ed first-year residents in shared-occupancy rooms. The residence hall has a common area, laundry room and student lounges located throughout the entire building and community-style bathrooms on each floor. Smith Hall has a resident assistant (R.A.) on every floor that helps students by providing opportunities to develop deep and meaningful relationships not just with their roommates, but with members of the entire building.
