The recreational and wellness hub of campus life and club sports, the Hollis Center features an outdoor swimming pool, gymnasium (Rinker Field House), a lounge and weight, fitness, activity and game rooms. Completed in 1995 with a generous contribution from the Hollis family, the center underwent major renovations in 2013. Interior upgrades included renovation of the floors, resurfacing of the Rinker Field House and the aerobic studio floors and installation of new weight equipment.
The Rinker Field House section of Hollis Center includes a bell tower featuring the Hollis Victory Bell, which tolls to celebrate university successes and special events. The bell is inscribed with the words, “Victory Comes From Doing Your Best.” The motto is also painted on the field-house wall.
The center’s name honors the Hollis family. Four generations of the family have been involved in the life of Stetson University. In addition to funding the Hollis Center, former trustee Mark Hollis and his wife, Lynn, also established student scholarships and endowed chairs for health and wellness.
