Funded in large part by Mrs. Henry J. Sage in 1950, the building carries the Sage family name. A number of upgrades have been made since, including the purchase of state-of-the-art science instrumentation. In 2009, the university opened its 22,000-square-foot Science Center addition, which is attached to Sage Hall. The center features state-of-the-art labs and equipment for biology, chemistry, environmental science and studies, physics, integrative health science, a greenhouse and exhibit space for undergraduate research.
