Abernethy Quad is the lawn area located on the interior of campus adjacent to the residence halls of Abernethy Village. It is named in honor of the late Julius W. Abernethy, Sr. of Newton, N.C., a generous Catawba benefactor and former vice-chairman of the Board of Trustees.
