Designed by the architectural firm of Machado and Silvetti Associates, One Western Avenue houses 365 Harvard graduate students in 235 apartments ranging from studios to three-bedroom units. Apartments are popular among students with families, who are not eligible for residence halls. The modern building features a 15-story brick and cast stone tower, as well as an innovative bridge that contains three additional stories of housing units and frames a spectacular view of the Charles River and the three towers of Peabody Terrace, designed by former GSD Dean Josep Liuis Sert.
