Created by contemporary Chinese artist Liu Yonggang, the three-ton sculpture "Buddha" is displayed outside the Edith and Peter O'Donnell Jr. Athenaeum at UT Dallas. The piece reimagines the traditional image of Buddha through an arrangement of historical and contemporary calligraphic representations of the character fo, which means Buddha or “enlightened one.”
