Ortega has assembled more than 1,400 unique, hand-blown glass spheres into a work weighing over 3,000 pounds. Sited in the atrium of the Robert Day Sciences Center, the piece reflects its location, which, in Ortega’s words, “is not just a building but a magnetic field of knowledge, ideas, and people coming together.”
