The Dahl President's Home is the fifth in a series of presidential houses since the college’s initial move from Paxton, Ill., in 1875.
The home, finished in 2004, is about 5,000 square feet with a 55-foot bridge and staircase leading to the home from across the slough.
Funding for the home was donated by John and Robert Dahl, sons of Art Dahl, who also established a scholarship for Augustana seniors.
The president's family lives in the house, hosting a wide variety of events such as fireside chats for students, intimate dinners for donors and guests of the college, large receptions for Homecoming and Family Weekend, faculty gatherings, cabinet retreats, and the annual holiday open house.
The main floor of the house displays paintings and other art from the collection of the Augustana Teaching Museum of Art.
