The Alumni Memorial Garden was created by members of the Class of 1957 to honor lost classmates. Since its dedication in 2005, it has become a tranquil space for remembrance and celebration, featuring memorial bricks for each graduating class, custom teak benches, and sculptures by alumni artists. The garden is divided into four quadrants, encircled by a stone path and flowering trees, with Bhumi Devi, a sculpture by Barbara Stroock Kaufman ’40, at its center. A pre-Commencement tradition invites senior class officers to plant flowers near their class brick, connecting new graduates to generations of Skidmore alumni.
