        O.K. Allen Hall houses University College, the academic college for freshmen and transfer students who intend to pursue a degree at LSU. These students have attempted fewer than 60 hours and have not been admitted to a degree-granting college.

        The building was named for Oscar K. Allen, who was governor of Louisiana from 1932-36. It was completed in 1932 and features murals that were began in 1938.
