In July 2014, J.D. Williams Library faculty and staff received funding from the UM Green Fund to install low emissivity film (low e-film) to the south-facing windows of the building. In addition to nearly eliminating the transmission of UV rays through the windows, low-e film can help lower a building's energy costs and cut solar heat gain.
