Campus Walk Plantings
In May of 2014, CSC students purchased and planted twelve beautiful shade trees east of Crites and along the double sidewalk. In response to damage to existing campus trees from Winter Storm Atlas in October 2013, students worked with CSC to add a diverse selection of strong trees for prairie conditions, including Chinkapin Oak (Quercus muhlenbergii), Kentucky Coffee Tree (Gymnocladus dioicus), and Bur Oak (Quercus macrocarpa).
